The Open Letter
Like you, I have been watching the recent displays of racial injustice happening in and across our country. I’ve questioned if there was anything I could say or do that would actually make a difference? And, quite honestly, I’ve hesitated for lack of knowing what to say or having my words be perceived as hollow.
Just One Voice 2.0
Today, I’m excited to announce the unveiling of Just One Voice 2.0. Just One Voice is entering a new chapter with greater clarity around who we are, how we work, and where we can make a meaningful difference.
But first, let me share how this new chapter came to be…
Building a Brighter Future Through Robotics
Inside the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center, robotics is giving young people an opportunity to learn through experimentation. Participants write code, operate robots, encounter problems and make adjustments until their ideas begin to work.
Where Mentorship Meets Opportunity
Young people cannot pursue opportunities they have never been shown. Exposure to mentors, workplaces and new career possibilities can expand not only what a young person knows, but what they believe is possible for their future.
From the Field to the Future
At The 18th Ward, sports create an entry point to something larger: confidence, leadership, employment and community connection.
Expanding the Capacity of Community Leaders
Strong community organizations need more than a powerful mission. They also need the space, relationships and practical resources that allow their work to grow.
Beyond the Game: Building Character Through Community
For the Bayou Lacombe Cardinals, football is more than a game. It is a starting point for personal responsibility, community involvement and the development of skills that extend far beyond the field.
Helping New Roots Grow Stronger
Moving to a new country can mean navigating an unfamiliar language, culture and system while trying to find stability and a sense of belonging. Raíces Nuevas was created to ensure Garifuna youth and families do not have to navigate that transition alone.
Judy’s Gift: Celebrating the People Who Strengthen Community
Some of the most meaningful contributions to a community are not measured by job titles, recognition or public achievements. They are found in everyday acts of kindness, generosity and care.
