Our First Recipient
We’re proud to introduce Julio Bermudez as the very first recipient of the Just One Voice Scholarship, awarded in partnership with Palette Northshore!
Julio is the founder of Raices Nuevas, a community-based organization dedicated to supporting Garifuna youth (ages 10–21) from Spanish-speaking countries as they settle into life in the United States. His work focuses on helping these young people integrate into their new communities by providing practical guidance, essential resources, and a strong sense of belonging during their first year in the U.S.
With plans to expand his impact to Louisiana’s Northshore, Julio is just getting started — and we’re honored to support him on this journey.

Judy’s Gift
Judy’s Gift is a philanthropic initiative created by Just One Voice to honor and uplift the people who make our community stronger every day. Named after its first recipient, this gift recognizes a remarkable member of our community whose generosity, kindness and spirit of neighborliness left a lasting impact. Judy’s Gift reflects our belief that support should be rooted in dignity, gratitude and connection. We celebrate individuals not for their circumstances, but for who they are and the positive presence they bring to those around them.
18th Ward: From the Field to the Future
Just One Voice is proud to support The 18th Ward by helping expand access to resources beyond extracurricular activities, connecting young people and families with tools that support personal growth, college pathways and long-term professional success. The 18th Ward is a nonprofit dedicated to building strong, connected communities through high-quality, affordable sports and workforce development programming for youth and families across New Orleans. Together, we’re investing in opportunity, mentorship and a future where every young person has the support they need to thrive.
Black Man Rising: Where Mentorship Meets Opportunity
Just One Voice is proud to support Black Man Rising by expanding professional exposure and opportunity, connecting youth with CEOs, industry leaders and mentors who offer real-world insight into careers they may have never considered or known were possible. Black Man Rising is a movement founded by a group of Black men who transformed their lived experiences and their shared high school journey into a national campaign rooted in outreach, mentorship and access to resources. Their work encourages people of color to define, pursue and exceed their own vision of success while becoming active stakeholders in their communities. Together, we are opening doors, broadening horizons and helping the next generation build futures without limits.
A brighter future
Just One Voice and NorthShore Robotics help facilitate the robotics program at the Florida Parish Juvenile Detention Center, using hands-on learning as a gateway to confidence, problem-solving, and career exploration. Beyond robotics, Just One Voice expands each participant’s network by connecting youth to educational resources, professional pathways and practical tools that support goals like continuing their education and obtaining driver’s licenses after release. This work is rooted in the belief that access, mentorship and opportunity can help young people prepare for productive, successful futures.
